An Angara-1.2 light rocket is set to be launched from the Plesetsk Cosmodrome on Saturday, March 15, as reported by the Pro Kosmos portal.

"The launch, to be conducted in the interests of the Russian Defense Ministry, will take place at 1:30 p.m. Moscow time (12:30 p.m. GMT) from the Plesetsk Cosmodrome in the Arkhangelsk Region. Details of the mission remain classified, and the number of satellites, along with their specifications, has not been disclosed," the news release states. The previous launch of the Angara light vehicle occurred in September 2024.

The Angara family comprises Russian launch vehicles ranging from light to heavy classes. Its propellants - kerosene and liquid oxygen - are environmentally friendly alternatives compared to those of the Proton-M engines that Angara rockets are set to replace in the near future.

In August, Alexey Varochko, the CEO of the Khrunichev State Space Research and Production Center (part of Roscosmos), told TASS that the Omsk branch of the center, the Polet Production Association, has commenced serial production of Angara launch vehicles.
