Workers at The Spaceship Company at the Mojave Air and Space Port reached a milestone, recently, in the assembly of the second SpaceShipTwo vehicle, when they installed the main oxidizer tank. This tank not only supplies the oxidizer necessary for the rocket motor to burn, it is part of the vehicle’s overall structure.
MOJAVE — Even as Virgin Galactic continues to push toward starting commercial passenger service with the first SpaceShipTwo vehicle built in-house, the second vehicle is taking shape in a hangar at the Mojave Air and Space Port.
